Our Story

When our son came in to our lives we were told he was blind, deaf, and would not live past spring. Quickly we realized he was not deaf, but it was clear he had poor vision if any vision at all. Or son was born at 25 weeks gestation. He was born with many health problems. We praise God that he performed a miracle in his life. Because of those miracles our son has been blessed with many springs.

He has reached many milestones that we never thought he would attain. As our son has entered the preschool age we have found that his vision has hindered his ability to learn. He has significant brain damage that has affected his visual cortex. He presents with many of the characteristics associated with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI).

Our son’s vision has improved over time. But we realized that often he would not “use” his vision making it very hard for him to learn. This inspired us to create the Bright Little Eyes apps that would help him “use” his vision. Just a few months ago our son could not identify objects in print, books, or electronic form. With the simplicity of the apps and the contrasting colors, our son has began to identify objects he couldn’t before.

We are greatly thankful for the many milestones our son has been able to achieve in his life so far and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our Bright Little Eyes.
